Our Story of
Empowerment

Dedicated to bridging the gap between community needs and sustainable development since 2019

A Grassroots Movement for Change

Sierra Empowerment Platform for Equality (SEPE) is a grassroots, indigenous non-governmental organization established by seasoned professionals in community and rural development. Founded in 2019 in Tonkolili District, Northern Province of Sierra Leone, SEPE is dedicated to improving the socioeconomic conditions of marginalized groups in rural and urban communities and helping those groups encounter Christ.

As part of its growth strategy, SEPE aims to establish a Freetown-based office by 2030. Over the years, SEPE has expanded operations into other parts of the Northern Province, steadily building a portfolio of impactful, community-driven initiatives.

Project goal: To improve levels of primary and secondary education and sustain the livelihoods of communities in Kholifa Rowalla and Mamuntha Mayoursor Chiefdoms.

  • Enhanced learning outcomes of primary and secondary school children
  • Consistent food and income security among families
  • Increased financial self-sufficiency among women entrepreneurs
  • Improved protection of the school and community environment
  • Improved church growth and leadership in churches

Target beneficiaries: Children, women’s cooperatives, youth groups, orphanages, Christian groups and churches, war widows, victims of gender-based violence, and low-income entrepreneurs in rural communities.

Our Mission

SEPE is dedicated to bridging the gap between community needs and sustainable development. We develop rural and urban communities through capacity building and active participation of community groups, organizations, and institutions with special emphasis on women, youth, and child development; rigorous programmatic evaluation; and socio-economic initiatives that foster long-term self-reliance in Sierra Leone.

Our Vision

A Sierra Leone where every individual has equal access to education, economic empowerment, and spiritual growth—fostering self-sufficient communities that thrive for generations. SEPE aims to establish a Freetown-based office by 2030 while expanding impactful initiatives across the Northern Province.
